Within a few weeks of seeing another photographers image we decided we would take a drive up to York, Maine to capture the Cape Neddick/Nubble Lighthouse off the coast. This trip was planned rather quickly as things were moving along work wise and we wanted to do something different. As well around this time of year the Milky Way is on the horizon early in the morning. We had a plan to go up the weekend of March 7-9 all dependent on weather. Even a little cloud cover would make it difficult to capture the Milky Way, but we took a chance and went anyways. As we drove up all we saw were clouds on our right, and it was clearing to our left. As we neared we could see the lighthouse in the distance and cloud cover all around. We figured we would give it around an hour or so to clear otherwise we would go farther north to capture Pemiquid Lighthouse. Well in the first hour the clouds cleared and gave us some spectacular views. Unfortunately in the time frame where the Milky Way would be in a nice position the clouds filled back in. All was not lost as we captured some great images and had a great time even with the high tide rolling in as well as the 20 degree temperatures. All in all we were on location from 12:30am till 4:30am, no matter the time we strive to capture an image you need!
We will be offering a few of our lighthouse images (shown below) from this trip in a limited production run of 25 each 16"x24" prints framed in a 20"x28" frame for $325 each. Each image will be numbered and signed by either Mark or Geoff.
